You may also propose topics in which you are interested even if they are not on my list, and you may narrow topics as you work on them. A paper with focus is generally better than one that only summarizes the most basic details. (Example: Don't attempt to discuss the entire Pantheon, focus on some important part of it, like the oculus, the entrance, the interior, its probable political importance, its now-missing exterior decoration, its buttressing, et cetera. It is better to be more thorough in treating a more focused topic than to be more superficial in treating a broad one.)
